As the rumors have led us to believe, Coldplay's Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson seem to be dating one another and we can credit Johnson's mother, actress Melanie Griffith, for basically confirming the news.
On Thursday (May 10), Griffith slipped up when she spoke about her daughter dating the pop singer during her appearance at the Global Gift Foundation USA Women’s Empowerment Luncheon. When asked what she thought of Johnson's relationship with the chart-topper, she said: "I adore him!" Knowing that her enthusiasm might have been a little much, she added, "But she is very private about her life, and I respect that."
Back in October, the pair sparked speculation when they were caught out and about on a sushi date in Los Angeles. According to a source, the couple was "cozy, laughing and affectionate" during the dinner. Months later, they attended Ellen DeGeneres' 60th birthday and were spotted holding hands as they came across Drew Barrymore outside of the star-studded celebration. Interestingly enough, the event also saw Chris' ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, with her fiancé, Brad Falchuck.
Griffith, on the other hand, also spoke mid-event about Antonio Banderas, her husband of 18 years, whom she filed for divorce from in June 2014. "I will always love him and he will always love me. We had a great 20 years together,” she told Us Weekly on Thursday. “I figure if you love somebody and you have children with them, how can you stop loving them? And how can you make it… why would you ever make it so that your children weren’t with both parents? We have all of us together. It’s like one big huge family. It’s really cool."
