Ariana Grande Planning a "Special" Manchester Show on Her 'sweetener' Tour

While revealing UK dates for her "sweetener" World Tour, Ariana Grande left out one very important city: Manchester. But, not to worry, because the pop star is planning something special for when she makes her tour stop there in 2019.

Grande revealed her tour dates via her social media this week, and on her Instagram Stories, she shared, "Manchester is not on this initial list because we are planning a special show." She added, "We need a bit more time getting things together before we can announce that date but we are of course coming and we love you."

Ariana last performed in Manchester during her star-studded "One Love Manchester" mega-concert, which featured performances by Ariana herself, in addition to artists including Mac Miller, Coldplay, Miley Cyrus, Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, and many others. The event was held just two weeks after the tragic bombing at her "Dangerous Woman" tour stop at Manchester Arena.

The UK leg of the "sweetener" tour will kick off on August 17, 2019 in September in London, also stopping in Birmingham, Glasgow, and Sheffield in mid-September.

Meanwhile, the North American "sweetener" tour begins on March 18th in Albany, NY, stopping throughout the spring and summer in major cities, including Boston, Philadelphia, New York (AND Brooklyn), Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas, Miami, and many others.

On Twitter, while "trying to clear another venue in Germany," Ari revealed that she actually wasn't going to go on tour at all. While responding to a fan, she wrote, "all imma say is i wasn't even going to tour at all this year so pleeeeeeeeease don't fight and be mad at me when they come out if you don't see your city. that s*** weighs heavy on me cause i love u and we've done the best we can fr. love u."

To coincide with her tour announcement, earlier in the day Grande dropped her newest song "imagine," which follows her already new mega-hit "thank u, next" — both off of her upcoming album thank u, next
