One of the best-selling toys this September was a finger-sized plastic monkey called a Fingerling, which responds to touch, motion and sound, according to market research firm The NPD Group.
Robotic toymaker WowWee launched Fingerlings in August, selling them for as little as $14.99 at stores like Walmart, Best Buy and Toys R Us. Now that the toy is in high demand, third party sites like Trendly are selling them for upwards of $180.
Each Fingerling has a name: Zoe, Mia, Finn, Boris, Bella, Sophie and, more recently, a unicorn named Gigi are just a few. The toys come with fun accessories like monkey bars, swing sets and see-saws for $39.99 — if you can find them.
Fingerlings could be the Hatchimals of 2017.
