A couple weeks ago I watched two seasons of The Walking Dead to catch up to the show's mid-season eight premiere, but here's why I won't make a habit of it: a recent British survey suggests binge-watching a TV show is bad for a person's mental health.
More than half of the 2,000 people polled experienced some sort of mental health issue after they finished watching a complete series. 18-to-24-year-olds are five times more likely to admit they feel depressed after a binge, and they’re twice as likely to feel empty or anxious.
Three quarters of people surveyed said they’ve skipped sleep to watch another episode, with 10 percent saying they’ve actually lost for or more hours of sleep because of their binge.
TL; DR: everything in moderation.
