Judy Blume Fans Are Not Happy With The 'Are You There God?' Book Redesign

The cover of Judy Blume’s classic novel Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret underwent a redesign, and fans of the book, which was released in 1970, are not happy with the update.

The new cover shows two text message bubbles that read, "are you there god?" and "it's me, margaret?" and a text bubble with ellipses, which make it look like Margaret is waiting for God to reply to her text.

Writer Jessica Hussman started the latest uproar. “What have they done to Judy Blume this book was copyrighted in 1970,” she tweeted. Here's how other fans reacted:

“Noooooooooooo. I bloody loved Judy Blume books in my early teens. I  guess this cover may appeal to today's youngsters but it just seems wrong,” one person tweeted, while another joked, “That is ridiculous. God is notorious for not responding to text messages. Cover art totally unbelievable.”
