Bow Wow Apologizes For Live Performance After Houston Mayor Calls Him Out

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner is so fed up that concerts continue to happen despite the pandemic that he called out one of the performers - Bow Wow - on Twitter.

Rapper Bow Wow, born Shad Gregory Moss, made a brief appearance at a Houston club on Friday night. A viral video shows Bow Wow performing at the club Cle in front of a packed, maskless crowd.

The show was actually headlined by rapper Meek Mill, but it was the video of Bow Wow that went viral.

"These events that are scheduled with @BowWowPromoTeam today in Houston are on our radar. Other bars/clubs that are operating as restaurants, beyond capacity and social distancing requirements, please expect visits. Today we report 1964 new cases and 17 more deaths. st," Turner tweeted over the weekend.

Bow Wow responded.

On Monday, Bow Wow apologized for the performance and clarified that it wasn't his show.

Before the Friday performance, Bow Wow promoted on Twitter five weekend parties in Houston, including a Trey Songz and Kenny Burns show at the club Spire. On Sunday at 12:30 a.m., authorities evacuated the show at Spire because of overcrowding and for violating COVID guidelines.

Mayor Turner and Bow Wow eventually made amends on Twitter. Turner clarified that he wasn't personally against Bow Wow, but he wanted everyone from concertgoers to performers to stop with the concerts.
