American Costco fanatics are feeling envious after recently learning of a Canada-only food court item.
Last month, Reddit user @thermal7 shared a photo of a food court menu inside a Canadian store, which included the chicken strips and fries combo for C$6.99 (about $5.08 USD), in a post shared on the r/Costco subreddit. The top upvoted comment acknowledged that "Chicken and fries would be such a hit in the states," to which an apparent Canadian Costco member replied, "You guys don't have chicken strips down there? Legit the best thing on the menu."
"Those chicken strips f****n SLAP too," another Redditor wrote.
The Canadian Costco food court also apparently offers poutine, the popular Quebec entree of french fries covered in cheese curds and gravy. The American Costco food court doesn't offer fries at all, which came as a surprise to several Canadian Redditors.
“You don’t have fries at Costco in the states? That’s extremely surprising,” one Canadian Redditor wrote.
“I feel so bad for you. The fries are honestly better than pretty much everything else. They aren’t normal fries either, I’m pretty sure they are battered to make them extra crispy and flavorful,” another Canadian Redditor wrote.
“Fries are the best sellers at my warehouse! Poutine and Chicken strips+fries are the two most sold item! (Source: I work there),” another wrote.
