Philadelphia Eagles starting offensive guard Mekhi Becton suffered a knee injury during Super Bowl LIX against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday (February 9) and is questionable to return, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported.

"#Eagles guard Mekhi Becton (knee) is questionable to return vs. the #Chiefs," Rapoport wrote on his X account.

Becton previously suffered a season-ending knee injury during his second game of the 2021 season with the New York Jets, which forced him to miss the entirety of the 2022 season. The 25-year-old has since appeared in 31 games during the last two seasons, playing more than 900 snaps during each of the last two seasons, including a career-best 987 snaps in 2023.

Becton signed a one-year contract with the Eagles this past offseason and was moved from offensive tackle to offensive guard, successfully filling the position as a 15-game starter and playing 903 snaps. The former Louisville standout was a key part of the Philadelphia offensive line that blocked for NFL leading rusher Saquon Barkley, who became the ninth player in league history to record more than 2,000 yards.

Becton bounced back from a disappointing stint with the New York Jets, having been selected at No. 11 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft but only make 30 starts in four seasons.
